Scientific Information

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

The official language of the ECCN Congress is English. All presentations will be in English.

KEYNOTE SESSIONS

These sessions will highlight a large range of clinical and scientific topics of highest interest which will be presented by international experts. Only during these sessions the Auditorium and the Gemelli Room will be audio video connected, however questions from the floor will be possible only from the Auditorium

SYMPOSIA AND WORKSHOPS

These sessions will see the participation of famous international specialists who will hold a Main lecture, the best scored related abstracts will also be included as oral presentations.

TEACHING COURSES

Following the previous successful experiences of the ECCN Congress, this edition will also incorporate teaching courses, which will be held on 21 and 24 June in the afternoon simultaneously in parallel meeting rooms.

As limited places are available for each course, early registration was required: all interested registrants will find the “entrance tickets” in their congress kit, according to the confirmed courses upon their registration. Further requests will be met according to the places left available for each course.

POSTER PRESENTATION

At this Congress, emphasis will be put on posters!
Posters will be divided into sessions and displayed in a large area at the congress centre. Authors will be required to be available for questions and further information at their poster board during the pertinence session breaks. All authors have received the details of their presentation. Posters have to be put up in the appropriate numbered space in the poster area according to the assigned poster session. The Organising Secretariat is not responsible for those posters that are not removed at the end of each day.

Please note that it is absolutely forbidden to use drawing-pins, nails and similar to fix the poster to the poster board; the Secretariat Desk will provide you with the necessary material to put up the poster. The use of audiovisual equipment for posters is not possible due to space restrictions.

Technical instructions:

  • The required dimensions are 0.95 m. width by 1.50 m. height
  • On the top of the board should be indicated: title of the paper, name(s) of the author(s), and affiliation

SATELLITE SYMPOSIA

Satellite Symposia will be organized at lunch time on 22 and 23 June. Some industries will offer a box lunch during these scientific sessions.

SLIDE CENTRE

The slide centre is situated near the Auditorium and the Congress Secretariat. All meeting rooms are equipped only with a computer slide projector. It will be not possible to use personal laptops in the meeting rooms. Speakers are kindly requested to use "Powerpoint" (Windows or MacIntosh/Apple). The dimensions of the Powerpoint presentation should not be larger than 20 MB, video excluded.

It is recommended to use ".gif" and ".jpg" extensions for images. Other types of extensions will be accepted provided that they can be recognized by Powerpoint.

The use of Cd-Rom, pens or memory stick is advisable to easily download the presentations, by handing them to the technicians in charge at the Slide Centre. Please remember to collect your CD or memory pen at the Slide Centre at the end of the session.

Speakers with Powerpoint presentation on CD Rom or memory pen: please report to the Slide Centre at least 1 hour before your presentation or the day before if you are scheduled in the morning.

Speakers with presentation on their own laptop: please report to the Slide Centre at least 4 hours before your presentation or the day before, if you are scheduled in the morning.
This timing will allow your presentation to be downloaded onto the main computer.

The Slide Centre is available for speakers to deliver their presentation with the following timetable:

CME CREDITS

CME credits will be provided for participants regularly attending the sessions.

CME ACCREDITATION BY UEMS

The ECCN congress is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide CME activity for medical specialists. The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialist (UEMS, www.uems.net).

The number of credits will be posted on the website as soon as available. Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. EACCME credits are recognized by the American Medical Association towards the Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA). To convert EACCME credit to AMA PRA category 1 credits, contact the AMA.

Please note that the registration code, printed on your badge and on the CME instruction in your congress envelope, is necessary to access the CME questionnaire and printing of the certificate, available at this web sitefrom 26th June to 17 July 2011.

ITALIAN ECM CREDITS

La richiesta di accreditamento è stata presentata ai competenti organi divisi per le singole professioni interessate e per giornata, sulla base del vecchio ordinamento.

I crediti formativi ECM saranno certificati da OIC Srl, secondo la nuova regolamentazione approvata dalla Commissione Nazionale per la Formazione Continua il 13 gennaio 2010 e sono rivolti a Medici specialisti in Neurochirurgia, Neurofisiopatologia, Neurologia, Neuropsichiatria infantile, Psichiatria, Medicina Fisica e Riabilitazione.

Avranno diritto ai crediti ECM solo coloro che saranno presenti almeno all’80% di ogni singola giornata del Congresso ed avranno compilato l’apposito questionario on-line a partire dal 26 Giugno 2011 e fino al 17 Luglio 2011 su questo sito.

Per l’accesso al questionario ECM sarà indispensabile inserire il Codice di Registrazione che verrà stampato sul badge nominativo che Le sarà consegnato insieme alle istruzioni ECM in sede congressuale.

Si ricorda, inoltre, la determinazione assunta dalla Commissione Nazionale Formazione Continua del 18 gennaio u.s. alla luce della quale ogni partecipante potrà maturare 1/3 dei crediti formativi ricondotti al triennio di riferimento (150 totali per il triennio 2011-2013) mediante reclutamento diretto da parte dello sponsor e dovrà consegnare al Provider dell’evento una copia dell’invito o una dichiarazione sottoscritta attestante l’invito, con firma autografa e leggibile, unitamente ai propri dati anagrafici. A tal fine è stata predisposta un’apposita sezione nel questionario on-line.

The General Assembly EC-IFCN will be held on Thursday 23 June 2011 in Auditorium at 17.30. Admission is reserved to members of the EC-IFCN Association.
