POSTER SESSION
Posters have to be put up by the Authors in the appropriate numbered space in the Poster
Area (second upper floor of the Centre Médical Universitaire). They must be put up
on Thursday April 16th starting from 15.00 and will remain until Saturday April 18th, when
they have to be removed starting from 17.30.
The poster discussion will take place during coffee and lunch breaks according to the final
programme schedule. The Author is requested to clearly indicate on the poster when
he/she will be present at it for discussion.
Attendance at one break is mandatory. Each author is kindly required to respect the
assigned position for his/her poster/s. It is strictly forbidden to occupy other positions
different from the one assigned. The Secretariat Desk will provide you with the necessary
material to put up the poster. The Organizing Secretariat is not responsible for those
posters that are not removed at the end of the Congress.
SLIDE CENTRE
All projections for Plenary Sessions (Room A250 and B400) will be managed by a single
computerized system. Slide centre will be located both inside room A250 and Room
B400. For this reason speakers are kindly invited to make a PowerPoint for Windows
presentation on CD or USB memory stick that must be downloaded at the slide centre
at least one hour before their session. If the presentation is loaded on their laptops,
they are kindly requested to stop at slide centre two hours before their session in order
to make a copy of it. Projections for Instruction Courses will be managed directly from
Room C150. Technicians will be at disposal on site for assistance.
MAIN SESSIONS
Plenary sessions will be held every morning and afternoon and will focus on the main
interesting topics in glaucoma surgery. They will include a panel of eminent experts in
the field at international level.
All sessions will foresee presentations, time to allow questions and answers from the audience
for the largest participation of attendees. Interactivity and open discussion with
the audience are expected to be the most important aspects of the Congress.
It is necessary to respect the allotted time in order to guarantee a smooth running of the sessions.
INSTRUCTION COURSES
Instruction courses and plenary sessions will run concurrently.
Requests of participation will be accepted on the “first come first served” basis as the
number of seats is limited to 150 delegates. Registration in the Instruction Courses is
free of charge for participants registered in the Congress. On site registrations (for participants
registered in the Congress) will be possible according to availability. Instruction
Courses will be held in the Room C150 according to the following schedule:
Friday, 17th April
Paediatric glaucoma
Non penetrating surgery
Trabeculectomy and combined surgery
Saturday, 18th April
The failed fitter
Surgical technique for new technologies
Aqueous shunts
Each participant registered in the Courses will receive a coupon to be shown along with
personal name badge for entrance.
SPONSORED MINI SYMPOSIA
Lunch Mini Symposia will be organized at lunchtime on 17th and 18th April, sponsored
by industry, and will allow to present the latest innovations and to have the opportunity
to exchange ideas with participants during the offered lunch just outside the meeting
room.
Sponsored Mini Symposia will be handled by industry but completely integrated in the
scientific programme of the Congress.
For each Symposium acknowledged leaders in the field of glaucoma surgery will discuss
their specialist subject.
FILM THEATRE
Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy video presentations on innovative and
educational glaucoma surgical topics. Videos will be projected in Auditorium B400.
OFFICIAL LANGUAGE
The official language of the 4th International Congress on Glaucoma Surgery is English.
All presentations will be in English. The exchange of ideas and critical evaluation of all
presentations is one of the main purposes of this Congress.
