ICGS 2010

Welcome to the Congress

It is a great pleasure to invite you to take part in the 5th International Congress on Glaucoma Surgery, to be held in New Delhi, India from November 11 to November 13, 2010.

After the successful Congresses in Europe (Lausanne 2001), Africa (Luxor 2003), Canada (Toronto 2006) and Geneva (2009), we are looking forward to an overwhelming response from the scientific community. Given that New Delhi is a veritable cornucopia of all things vibrant, with a very strong sense of history, and a population that is as dynamic and enterprising as its nascent nation, we expect ICGS 2010 to be a resounding success.

The congress venue is Le Méridien New Delhi, equipped with high quality meeting facilities and state of the art audiovisual support and an experienced staff of technicians. The famed hospitality of the Indians is, of course, an added bonus.

We are expecting in excess of 800 participants, including the virtual who’s who of the world of glaucoma: a multinational cast of key glaucoma leaders, premier guest speakers, and corporate representatives from all glaucoma related fields.
Our target audience includes glaucoma specialists, general ophthalmologists, and related professionals coming from all over the world.

The world of glaucoma surgery is evolving at a pace hitherto unrealized: research, technological advances, device innovations, and technical refinements in the surgical management of glaucoma have made this a very exciting time indeed. Although laser and surgical therapy are the prime focus, the ICGS endeavours to incorporate all aspects of glaucoma care, including epidemiology, diagnostics, and medical therapy in order to be increasingly relevant to the glaucoma practitioner.
This unique scientific meeting has thus captured the imagination of practitioners worldwide, generating great enthusiasm and anticipation in the field; and the meeting has already garnered widespread interest and enrolment.

A world class meeting of this calibre would indeed be impossible without the support of industry partners, and we’re certain they will find participation in ICGS 2010 to be a productive and rewarding experience.

The meeting facilities and exhibit space at Le Méridien New Delhi are fully functional, with a parallel exhibition area just outside the Main Auditorium: this area will also hold the catering and coffee facilities to give delegates the opportunity to visit exhibition stands during breaks, as well as before and after sessions.

Our meeting program includes an Opening Reception in the Congress Venue – Exhibition area, plenary sessions, instructions courses, symposia, program breaks, and a gala dinner to be held in one of the outstanding venues of the city.

We offer you our warmest welcome and hope to make the 5th ICGS Congress in New Delhi a memorable experience for you!
