Scientific contributions can be submitted through this website and will be accepted as "Oral Paper" and "Poster". Authors are kindly asked to follow the instructions given in the section "Call for Abstracts" carefully and fill in all required fields.
Abstracts submitted through different means will not be accepted.
Deadline for abstract submission is September 15th, 2010.
All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee of the Congress. Acceptance, together with all technical details for presentations (oral or poster), will be notified to the submitting Author by September 30 th, 2010.
Registration is mandatory for participation in the scientific sessions and for all oral and poster presenters.
A large display area will be dedicated to poster presentations. The posters will be displayed on panels. Mounting materials will be supplied by the Organizing Secretariat. The use of audiovisual equipment for posters is not accepted. Please note: when designing your poster please provide clear and concise data in large print that is legible from a distance of at least 1 meter.
Posters can be discussed at the poster site with the author during breaks. If accepted, your poster will be set up for one designated day, which will be confirmed by the Organizing Secretariat. It must be in place from the beginning of the sessions of the respective day in the morning and must be removed in the evening before the conference centre closure at 18.00 hours. The organisers will remove any poster left in place after this time. Technical information for set-up and other useful details will be sent directly to presenting authors.
All meeting rooms are equipped only with a computer slide projector, whereas neither traditional slides nor overhead projectors for transparencies are available. It will be not possible to use personal laptops in the meeting rooms, unless previously authorized by the Organizing Secretariat.
Speakers are kindly requested to use PowerPoint for Windows. The use of CD-Rom, pen or memory stick is advisable to easily download the presentations.
Presentations on personal laptops must be downloaded at the Slide Centre before the session.
Plenary sessions will be held every morning and afternoon and will focus on the main interesting topics in glaucoma surgery with eminent experts from around the globe putting forth their points of view on the specified topic.
All sessions will foresee presentations, time to allow questions and answers from the audience for the largest participation of attendees.
Instruction courses and plenary sessions will run concurrently.
Requests of participation will be accepted on the "first come first served" basis as the number of seats is limited. Registration in the Instruction Courses is free of charge for participants duly registered for the Congress. Delegates are requested to indicate in the registration form which courses they may be interested in attending. The detailed programme to help you plan your conference schedule will be available soon.
Industry Symposia will be organized at lunchtime on 12th and 13th November 2010. These Symposia will be sponsored by industries and will allow them to present their latest innovations. Participants will also have the opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues during the lunch which will be offered just outside the meeting room.
Sponsored Symposia will be handled by industries but completely integrated in the scientific programme of the Congress.
For each Symposium acknowledged leaders in the field of glaucoma surgery will discuss their specialist subject.
The programme of the Congress will be submitted to UEMS for European accreditation. European CME credits will be granted according to the indications set by UEMS and provided for participants regularly attending the planned scientific sessions.
The official language of the 5th International Congress on Glaucoma Surgery is English. All scientific communications will be presented in English. The exchange of ideas and critical evaluation of all presentations is one of the main purposes of this Congress.
