Sightseeing Tours

The following sightseeing tours (all by bus) will be organized for registered delegates and accompanying persons only. English guides will conduct each tour. The rate of all tours will include monuments entrance fees. Reservations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Early booking is recommended, as on-site availability cannot be guaranteed.

A. HALF DAY TOUR

OLD DELHI

Thursday 11 November – 14.00-17.3

Tour A

A beautiful overview of the ancient walled city. Starting from the Red Fort, the most opulent Fort and Palace of the Mughal Empire, you will be guided to Raj Ghat, the memorial site of the Mahatma Gandhi, Jama Mashid, the largest mosque in India, and the National Gandhi Museum. The visit ends with a walk through Chandni Chowk, the bustling and colourful market of the Old City.

B. HALF DAY TOUR

NEW DELHI

Friday 12 November – 9.30-13.00

Tour B

Starting from Humayun’s Tomb, gorgeous example of the Mughal architecture, the visit will drive you by the Purana Quila, the oldest Fort of Delhi, to reach the Gandhi Smriti, the place where Mahatma Gandhi spent the last 144 days of his life and was assassinated on January 30, 1948. The tour continues with the visit of Crafts Museum and the National Museum.

QUTB MINAR & BAHAI HOUSE OF WORSHIP

The Qutb Minar tower in Delhi is at 72,5 meters (237.8 ft) the world’s tallest brick minaret. The surrounding archaeological area contains funerary buildings, notably the magnificent Alai-Darwaza Gate, the masterpiece of Indo-Muslim art (built in 1311), and two mosques, including the Quwwatu'l-Islam, the oldest in northern India, built of materials reused from some 20 Brahman temples.The Bahai House of Worship, popularly known as the Lotus Temple due to its flowerlike shape, is a monument dedicated to the unity of God, unity of all religions and unity of humankind.

D. FULL DAY TOUR

Tour D

Full day city tour of Old & New Delhi. Starting from the Red Fort, you will be guided to Raj Ghat, the memorial site of the Mahatma Gandhi, and to the largest mosque in India, Jama Mashid. After lunch, the tour continues with the visit to the Qutb Minar and to the Bahai House of Worship.

E. FULL DAY TOUR

Travel to Agra India, the city of architectural wonders and see the marvellous Taj Mahal. This beautiful marble monument, located on a bank of the Yamuna River in Agra India, has inspired poets and lovers throughout the world. Mughal Emperor Shah dedicated this temple to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, as a tribute to a beautiful woman and to eternal love.
