European Glaucoma Society: an evolving secretariat, a growing community


The ambition

Over the past 20 years, OIC has built a strong and fruitful collaboration with the European Glaucoma Society, grounded in active listening and mutual trust. The primary goal was to deliver comprehensive, tailored support for both administrative and communication activities, reinforcing the association’s position at the European level and increasing engagement within the scientific community. The ambition was to evolve the secretariat from a purely administrative function into a strategic driver, one capable of optimising member management and activities while providing an effective platform to support EGS’s mission.


The challenges

Coordinating and managing over 1,200 international members with diverse needs. Creating an effective communication strategy, including the creation and ongoing update of modern, user-friendly digital channels.


Ideas in action

OIC Group developed a new society website integrated with an optimised management system for tracking and handling new memberships, annual renewals, and committee approval processes. By implementing advanced software tools, the association was able to manage its member database efficiently and respond quickly to member needs. At the same time, OIC created a multichannel communication plan, integrating social media, video content production, and an editorial strategy to deliver high-impact content over time.

OIC Group’s management of the EGS Secretariat has enabled the association to streamline internal processes, enhance member experience, and boost its digital visibility. The synergy between administrative support and strategic communication has transformed EGS into a benchmark for European scientific associations.
