Bringing together the international scientific community to share knowledge, innovation and vision in the field of glaucoma. The 16th Congress of the European Glaucoma Society, held in Dublin from 1 to 4 June 2024, was a key moment for clinical exchange and the development of new therapeutic perspectives. For OIC Group, this assignment held particular significance: EGS is one of our longest-standing partners, with over 20 years of continuous collaboration. The Dublin edition marked yet another step forward in the co-design of a truly international scientific event. The mission was clear: to deliver a high-level congress that combined cutting-edge content, flawless organization, and inclusive, active participation.
Working in a vibrant city like Dublin, within an iconic and high-profile venue such as the Convention Centre Dublin (CCD), required meticulous planning and multi-level coordination. The scientific programme spanned four intensive days, featuring hundreds of speakers, parallel sessions, and interactive activities aimed at an increasingly demanding international audience. The main challenges included the simultaneous management of multiple spaces, technical and logistical coordination of a global faculty, numerous hands-on sessions, video interviews, and continuous support to a high-level Scientific Committee to ensure full enhancement of both content and connections.
Thanks to our well-established know-how and deep understanding of EGS culture, our team managed every phase of the project with an integrated approach: from logistics to production, from delegate services to on-site communication. The space layout was carefully designed to optimise the flow of scientific sessions and encourage networking, supported by advanced technological solutions for presentation management, digital content delivery, and attendance tracking. Special attention was given to the international faculty, with a dedicated support system before, during, and after the congress, ensuring a smooth and highly professional experience for both speakers and moderators. To complete the picture, real-time scientific coverage was curated by our communication team, including live updates on EGS’s official social media channels, interviews with Key Opinion Leaders, and video content produced during the event and distributed in the months that followed. A structured editorial plan amplified the congress’s reach well beyond its physical boundaries, strengthening the EGS community and maximising the digital impact of every scientific contribution.
The 16th EGS Congress reaffirmed the strength of the partnership between OIC and the European Glaucoma Society, a collaboration built on trust, continuity, and innovation. It was an event managed with precision, empathy, and an international outlook, enhancing the association’s reputation and delivering a memorable experience to the entire glaucoma community.
