To create a global meeting of minds in spine care that transcends disciplines, borders, and cultures. AO Spine and OIC Group embarked on this journey over a decade ago, driven by a shared belief: that knowledge, when exchanged with openness and care, has the power to change both practice and perspective.
2025 marked a milestone, not just another edition, but a celebration of purpose, trust, and evolution. Rio de Janeiro became the canvas on which we painted the next chapter.
How do you bring together thousands of professionals from all over the world in a destination pulsing with energy, yet demanding balance and respect for its rhythm? How do you make global feel local, and structure feel human?
In a post-pandemic world, with rising expectations around inclusion, sustainability, and experience design, the challenge was clear: to craft an international congress that could honour scientific excellence and reflect the spirit of its setting: bold, diverse, alive.
We turned complexity into connection through a series of deliberate choices: an inclusive design, shaped by attention to access, inclusivity, comfort, and community. A respectful dialogue between local culture and global content, made possible thanks to a rich network of Brazilian suppliers, artists, and producers. A carbon-neutral commitment, measuring and compensating our footprint through certified offsetting projects. A scenographic concept that mirrored the academic depth of the programme, while welcoming diverse aesthetics and voices.
Global Spine Congress 2025 was a human success. A community of speakers, delegates, and local stakeholders came together in a space that felt welcoming, meaningful, and future-oriented.
The congress left behind knowledge, and also a positive environmental and social legacy, a template for what global medical events can (and should) be.
Ten years in, this partnership has proven that precision and emotion are not opposites, they are what make an event unforgettable.
